Paintings stolen in IMM investigation found in Maslak and Teşvikiye

There has been a new development in the corruption investigation launched against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and its suspended mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu. Istanbul Financial Crimes Units, who are following the trail of numerous paintings believed to belong to Murat Kapki, who was detained and questioned as a "suspect" in the investigation, have conducted a series of operations.
According to the statement of Berat Kapki, who was identified as the nephew of the suspect Murat Kapki in the investigation, it was alleged that there were approximately 45-50 paintings, each worth approximately 100 thousand dollars, in his uncle's villa in Acarkent and that the paintings in question were moved to a warehouse before the detention. Taking action in light of the statements and information provided, the Financial Branch police conducted operations on the warehouses determined in Maslak and Teşvikiye on June 23 and 24. During the searches at the addresses raided, 143 items with a market value of approximately 5 million 100 thousand liras were seized, including 28 model cars, a model nostalgic tram, a marble statue, a model boat, 64 figures, 2 balloon dog figurines, 10 glass figurines and 35 paintings, which were allegedly moved from the villa.
