Joint statement from BRICS summit! 'Unconditional ceasefire must be achieved in Gaza'

BRICS leaders called for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and all occupied Palestinian territories and a permanent and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.
A joint declaration was issued within the scope of the BRICS Leaders Summit hosted by Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
The declaration stated that the Gaza Strip was an "indispensable part" of Palestine and called for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip and all occupied Palestinian territories, as well as a permanent and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.
The statement expressed "commitment" to Syria's sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and emphasized support for a peaceful and inclusive process "led and owned by Syria and to which the United Nations provides assistance on the basis of United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolution 2254."
The statement condemned the military attacks against Iran since June 13, 2025, noting that these violated international law and the UN Charter, and expressed concern about the increasing security risk in the Middle East.

THE SITUATION IN SUDAN AND HAITI
The statement expressed deep concern about the humanitarian crisis in Sudan and called for an immediate, permanent and unconditional ceasefire in the region and for the conflict to be resolved through peaceful means.
The statement also emphasized the importance of ensuring continuous, urgent and uninterrupted access to humanitarian aid for the Sudanese people.
The declaration stated that the humanitarian and economic situation in Haiti is getting worse day by day and emphasized that the humanitarian crisis in the country can only be resolved with the support of the international community.
The declaration called for support for efforts to eliminate gangs, improve the security situation in the country and ensure long-term development.
TARIFFS CONDEMNED
The declaration emphasized that increasingly widespread tariff practices threaten the global trading system, stating that tariffs disrupt global supply chains, create uncertainty in international economic and commercial activities, and increase economic inequalities.
The statement noted that there was serious concern about this situation and reiterated support for a rule-based, open, transparent, fair and inclusive multilateral trading system.
It also condemned Ukraine's June 1 bombings of bridges and railway infrastructure in the Bryansk, Kursk and Voronezh regions, which "deliberately targeted civilians."
The declaration expressed satisfaction with Indonesia and other countries becoming members of BRICS.

"We welcome the joint statement of the BRICS summit, calling for a ceasefire in Gaza and the withdrawal of the occupying army, and condemning the violations of international humanitarian law and the use of starvation as a method of war," the statement said.
Hamas called on all countries to put pressure on the Israeli government to stop its attacks and genocide targeting innocent civilians in Gaza and to comply with international law.
Hamas also called for the lifting of the criminal blockade imposed on more than 2 million people.
LAVROV: BRICS ARE TRYING TO CREATE A STABLE GLOBAL ECONOMY
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that BRICS countries are trying to create a stable global economy based on the principles of universality, transparency and equality.
According to a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Lavrov attended the 17th BRICS Leaders' Summit hosted by Brazil in Rio de Janeiro.
Speaking at the second session of the summit, Lavrov pointed out the importance of the establishment of a multipolar world order and said, "Multipolarity is not a choice, but a reality that has replaced the old liberal model based on colonialism."
Lavrov, emphasizing that trust in payments in the US dollar has been shaken, said: "The situation is getting out of control even in developed countries. The US government debt has reached a record level of $37 trillion and continues to grow. Therefore, it is not surprising that the global majority is interested in development mechanisms independent of the West. The countries of the global South and East have become the main driving force of global economic growth."
Lavrov stated that in this case, the role of regional organizations has increased and BRICS is leading in this regard, and noted:
"BRICS is trying to create a more stable global economy based on the principles of universality, transparency and equality. BRICS accounts for more than 40 % of the global economy. With BRICS partners, this figure reaches 45% or $93 trillion. BRICS represents almost half of the world's population. The share of BRICS countries in Russia's trade turnover is constantly growing and will exceed 48% in 2024. 90% of payments are made in national currencies."
Lavrov stressed that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank should not be used for colonial policies.
