Istanbul Airport has become the busiest airport in Europe in terms of number of flights.

The European Organisation for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL) has published the European Air Traffic Operations Report for June 2025.
According to a report on the official website of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (SHGM), Istanbul Airport ranked first on the list of the busiest airports in Europe in June.
Istanbul Airport, the busiest airport in Europe with an average of 1,560 flights per day, was followed by Amsterdam Schiphol in the Netherlands and Paris Charles de Gaulle airports.
In the month in question, Antalya Airport ranked 10th with an average of 972 daily flights, while Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen Airport ranked 18th with an average of 748 daily flights.
