Google fined $1.3 billion for data breach!

The lawsuits filed by the Texas Attorney General's Office against Google for illegally collecting user data have concluded. The giant company will pay $1.375 billion as a result of the two lawsuits.
HIGHEST AMOUNT AGREEMENT
In a statement on the subject, it was stated that Texas filed two lawsuits against Google in 2022 for "unlawfully tracking and collecting users' private data related to geographic location, private searches, and biometric data." The $1.375 billion fine was recorded as the highest settlement a state has reached with Google so far for similar data privacy violation allegations.

"This resolves a number of previous claims regarding product policies that we changed long ago. We are happy to put these behind us and will continue to build robust privacy controls into our services," Google spokesman Jose Castaneda said.
