Cevdet Yılmaz: We have to be vigilant

Cevdet Yılmaz, in a post on his social media account, stated that we are living in extraordinary climate conditions, with the risk of fire rising to a very high level across a very wide geography, and that even a small negligence can have major consequences.

Commemorating with mercy the forest martyrs who lost their lives while responding to the forest fire that broke out in the Seyitgazi district of Eskişehir, Yılmaz expressed his gratitude to the public officials and volunteers who heroically responded to the forest fires.

Vice President Yılmaz emphasized the vital importance of responding to fires as quickly and effectively as possible, and noted the following:

Every effort is being made in this direction. However, the fundamental solution is to minimize the risks that cause fires. All our public institutions and every citizen must exercise utmost caution and remain vigilant in areas at risk of fire. In this context, in our meeting today with our relevant ministers, we established a 'Risk Management Team' at the central level, under the coordination of our Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, to take additional measures if needed. Furthermore, each ministry will assess the risks in its respective area and act swiftly. A similar approach will be implemented at the local level, under the coordination of our governors. This fight will be continued with the solidarity of the state and the nation. Let us avoid any actions that increase fire risk. Let us meticulously follow the warnings and decisions of authorized individuals and institutions, avoiding disinformation. The support of civil society and our people is invaluable.
