This is the MSC World America, a cruise of emotions, luxury and lots of flavor.
A giant shark's jaw swallows passengers, taking them on an adventure down a slide that glides from the 12th floor to the first. Enormous swings swinging over the sea, a maze of challenges inviting you to challenge the heights, and fast-paced water slides provide the adrenaline rush aboard the MSC World America.
The Italian cruise line's newest ship is, without a doubt, one of the most exciting offerings, packed with shows and activities for the whole family. Plans to challenge the most active and others for those seeking peace and quiet are part of its daytime and nighttime offerings.
This modern ship, built at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyards in Saint Nazaire, France, launched seven-day itineraries in the Caribbean in April, with stops in Puerto Plata (Dominican Republic); San Juan (Puerto Rico); Costa Maya and Cozumel (Mexico); Roatán Island (Honduras); and, on all voyages, a visit to Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. The route combines plans for walking and exploring the islands, going to the beaches or shopping, or simply staying on board to enjoy the sights.

The cruise ship, which is one of the largest in the world, impresses from the outside with its 216,000 tons, capacity for 6,764 passengers and 2,138 crew members, and the grandeur of its 22 floors, most of which offer cabins or rooms with balconies overlooking the sea.
Just take a few steps through its lobby or the World Galleria, a three-level space that houses bars, shops, and restaurants , to be amazed by its luxurious decor and contemporary design that combines European elegance and American comfort.
At the time of fun
The ship is organized into seven themed districts, which include bars, restaurants, leisure and entertainment areas. On the 19th and 20th floors is the Family Zone, with experiences for all ages, from kindergarten for the little ones, to the Lego park that encourages imaginative play, to the games, video games, and Formula 1 experiences for teens and adults.
And on the 20th floor, the adrenaline flows at The Harbour, an open-air space that includes a Cliffhanger, a ropes course that tests your courage, a water park, a play area, rest areas, and a snack bar. It also offers four slides—three water slides and one dry slide—that challenge you to take the plunge again and again.
For sun and water lovers, there are pools in spaces like Zen, offering privacy and silence, and the Botanic Garden Center, with relaxing jacuzzis, all the way to the main pool, which is filled with activities and music. Don't miss the Aura Spa on the eighth floor, a temple of relaxation and good living, inviting you to enjoy therapies and treatments: a jet pool, thermal beds (hot and cold), a sauna, and a Turkish bath for those who love relaxation.

The beach in the style of Ocean Cay
When the ship arrives in the Bahamas, it's time to discover Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, the cruise line's private island. A paradise with white-sand beaches and a turquoise sea. The plan here is to relax and enjoy a day on this island designed and organized to disconnect from the world and enjoy a day of sunshine, nautical activities, grilled food, or simply pure relaxation.
It's time to visit the lighthouse with its spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea, go to the beach, snorkel, relax on a floating mattress, or explore the farthest reaches of the island to discover places like Ocean House, a bar with spectacular views.
You'll also find the Marine Conservation Center, a commitment to ocean health and coral conservation created by the MSC Foundation. It will feature interactive pavilions, a biological laboratory, and a terrestrial coral nursery.
If you don't want to walk long distances, electric golf carts will take you from one end of the island to the other. You'll also find snack and beverage stations.

Commitment to sustainability
During the inaugural event, Javier Massignani, Director of Argentina & Latam for the shipping line, stated that MSC World America "is one of the most energy-efficient ships in the world, thanks to its use of LNG as fuel and state-of-the-art engines. It will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 20 percent, with an 85 percent reduction in nitrogen oxides and the near-total elimination of sulfur oxides and particulate matter." In addition, the ship features advanced waste management systems and port power connections.
