Sevilla fans storm the facilities and force players to sleep at the Sports City.

A grotesque night in Seville after the 3-2 defeat in Vigo put the Nervión team on the brink of relegation, with a six-point margin and nine to play for. More than a hundred Andalusian fans gathered at the Ciudad Deportiva to attack the team , protest the club's sporting situation, and demand accountability for Sevilla's downward spiral.

The Sevilla ultras' actions led to an assault on the Ciudad Deportiva stadium , forcing the players to sleep there. The bus arrived at the stadium protected by a large presence of state security forces—the National Police and Civil Guard— and had to charge at the fans, firing their air rifles, who greeted the team with insults and egg throwing.

Sevilla fans ended up breaking down the gate of the stadium. The incidents led to the players having to stay overnight at the Sports City due to the impossibility of leaving safely.

On Sunday morning, Sevilla issued a statement condemning the incident. "Sevilla FC strongly condemns the organized vandalism that took place this Saturday night at the José Ramón Cisneros Palacios Sports City, following the arrival of the first team at its facilities after the match against Celta de Vigo," the statement began.

Sevilla will sue its fans

"Sevilla FC understands that the team's sporting situation, which is not what any Sevilla fan wants, may lead to protests, but under no circumstances will they be admissible if they are accompanied by aggression, threats, or acts of vandalism . Likewise, we will pursue the public naming of employees and the dissemination of private data on social media and in the media, acts that constitute a crime," he continued.

" Sevilla FC will report to the relevant authorities the unusual and violent attacks on its employees, players, technical staff, and management upon their arrival at the training complex. These attacks forced the Sevilla first team to spend the night at the facilities. Sevilla FC requests that the law enforcement agencies take the utmost care to locate those responsible for these despicable acts, perpetrated by a gang of organized radicals who acted with extreme violence," the club announced.

"Of course, we will report the attack on our facilities to the relevant authorities, as well as the acts of vandalism that occurred in the first-team area, which even ended with the invasion of the aforementioned first-team area by a large group of violent individuals. Beyond the complaints, Sevilla FC is committed to doing everything in its power to collaborate in the pursuit of the perpetrators of these crimes, will try to help identify those who carried out the aforementioned actions, and will act inflexibly if they are Sevilla FC fans and members," he concluded.
