Millonarios still has a very remote mathematical chance of reaching the semi-final quadrangulars: they need at least 12 results to go their way.
Millonarios already seem resigned to elimination from the BetPlay League, after the goalless draw against Once Caldas on Wednesday at El Campín.
Even in the press conference after that match, both the coach, Hernán Torres, and the captain, Mackalister Silva, already seemed to have their minds on 2026 and the possibility of securing a spot in the Copa Sudamericana through the reclassification process.
However, anything is possible in math. The Blues, who are in 13th place in the standings with just 22 points, still have a chance, albeit a very slim one, of qualifying for the semifinal quadrangulars.

It's certainly not an easy situation. They need at least 12 results to go their way, starting with their own two, to see if the calculator can achieve what the team hasn't been able to on the pitch so far.
Millonarios will no longer play in Bogotá during the round-robin phase. Their two remaining matches are away games, and they must win both: in Matchday 19 they will face Envigado at Parque Estadio Sur, and they will close out the season against Boyacá Chicó in Tunja. Any other result will eliminate them.

The six points don't guarantee them anything. They'll have to wait, for example, for América to get no more than four points in their three remaining matches: a visit to Chicó, a home game against Unión Magdalena, and a final game against Medellín at the Atanasio Girardot stadium.
They also need Águilas Doradas to not add any more points, given their current goal difference of -4. The team managed by Spaniard Jonathan Risueño faces two tough opponents, both already qualified and vying for a top seed in the playoffs: Nacional, in Medellín, on matchday 19, and Tolima, in Rionegro, on matchday 20.
Another team that Millonarios would be targeting in this hypothetical scenario is Alianza Valledupar, who are unlikely to earn more than two points. In their next match, they will host Chicó and then close out the season in Bogotá against Santa Fe, a game where only a draw will suffice.
The Colombian champion is also part of the blue calculations. In addition to a draw against Alianza, Millonarios needs them to not beat Deportivo Cali in the next round.
Furthermore, under those calculations, Llaneros could not obtain more than two points to avoid relying on goal difference. The Villavicencio-based team will visit Tolima in matchday 19 and host Envigado in matchday 20.
And the other team Millonarios will have to keep an eye on is Once Caldas, who can't earn more than four points. Hernán Darío Herrera's team has matches against Deportivo Pasto in Manizales and Deportivo Cali in Palmaseca.
Millonarios' other objective: to secure a place in the reclassification The other objective for Millonarios, a slightly closer one, is to secure a place in the reclassification to at least get the consolation prize of returning to the first phase of the Copa Sudamericana: in this table, the team is seventh, with 69 points.
It is almost a given that the spot for the BetPlay Cup champion will go to the reclassification: of the four semifinalists, Nacional and Medellín would be in Libertadores today, América surpasses Millonarios in the year's accumulated total and if Envigado wins the Cup, it will not be able to play it because it has been relegated to the B.
In that scenario, Millonarios is six points ahead of Bucaramanga, who will almost certainly overtake them in the playoffs. They are ten points ahead of Once Caldas, 14 ahead of Alianza, 15 ahead of Fortaleza CEIF, and 19 ahead of Águilas Doradas. Unless one of these teams surpasses them or wins the championship, Millonarios' spot in the playoffs is practically secured.

It's worth remembering that the two league champions and the top two teams in the overall standings without a star qualify for the Copa Libertadores. The next three will play in the Copa Sudamericana.
