Girona coach Michel hospitalized due to a health problem

Girona manager Míchel Sánchez has been hospitalized due to a health problem and is under medical observation as a precaution, the Catalan club announced on Friday.
In a statement published on the social network X, Girona explained that Míchel is progressing "favorably," that he is receiving appropriate care, and that he will not be able to lead the team in this Saturday's match against Villarreal, in Montilivi.
The club wishes him a full recovery "in the coming days" and appreciates the Madrid coach's understanding and respect for his privacy at this time.
Girona has also announced that assistant coach Salva Fúnez will appear at the press conference ahead of the match against Villarreal this Friday.
Míchel posted a message on social media explaining that he will be hospitalized for a few days for observation due to a "health setback," but that he is "fine" and that "from now on" he is counting down the days to "continue fighting for the rest of the season."
"I'm sure that this group, despite my absence, will give everything, as always, so that our fans can feel proud of the club and the values it represents," the Atlético manager added.
The Girona coach expressed his gratitude for the treatment and professionalism of the doctors, as well as the displays of affection and messages from the "Girona family" and all those who have been concerned about him. Míchel concluded his message with a " see you soon" and a "goodbye, Girona."
With four matches remaining in the EA Sports LaLiga, the Catalan team sits in fifteenth place, with a six-point margin over the relegation zone.
