The 5 new features coming to your AirPods with iOS 26

Apple made official at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) the new Liquid Glass design that Tim Cook's company will apply to its entire ecosystem . The introduction of this change will give a glassy look to the screens of the bitten apple devices, however, this was not the only new feature that Apple announced during the WWDC, since it revealed some functions with artificial intelligence that will come to both the iPhone, iPad, Vision Pro and AirPods.
Among these new features coming to the devices, the AirPods stand out, making them smarter and more useful. According to the specialized newspaper MacRumors , iOS 26 adds a series of features that will be available this fall when the Cupertino company officially releases the operating system and the new AirPods firmware. These are the new features:
● Remote camera control
AirPods will feature a remote control for controlling the camera directly from the earbuds themselves. Simply press and hold the stem of the device to take a photo or start recording a video, while a second press will stop recording.
● Studio-quality audio recording
The headphones will be able to capture voices more clearly thanks to a combination of beamforming microphones, the H2 chip, and computational audio processing, allowing them to record with professional quality thanks to voice isolation.
This feature will be supported across multiple apps , including Camera, Voice Memos, Messages, FaceTime, video calling apps like Webex or Zoom, and even third-party camera platforms.
● Improves audio quality
The H2 chip in AirPods 4 and AirPods Pro 2 will bring a more natural vocal texture and clarity to regular phone calls, FaceTime calls, and all CallKit-enabled apps like Zoom.
● Audio will stop if you fall asleep with your AirPods on.
The new "Pause Media When Sleeping" feature will pause audio if the user falls asleep. This feature will appear in the AirPods settings after connecting to the iPhone, but you'll need the new AirPods firmware and iOS 26 to enjoy this feature.
● Keep the audio in the headphones
iOS 26 fixes an annoying issue related to CarPlay and AirPods. It now includes a new "Keep Audio in Headphones" option, which prevents audio from being diverted to your car speakers or other Bluetooth devices when listening to music with AirPods.
