Pac-man: Google launches a fun doodle to play the classic game in its Halloween version
Google unveiled an interactive doodle to celebrate Halloween and commemorate the 45th anniversary of Pac-Man, the iconic arcade video game released in the early 1980s. By clicking on the search engine's logo, users can play a themed version of the classic title.
A tribute with a Halloween aesthetic Upon entering google.com, the usual logo transforms into a black square with purple borders and orange lettering, the characteristic colors of Halloween. Instead of one of the "O"s in the name Google, a triangle appears; clicking it starts the game.
The protagonist, Pac-Man, appears wearing a witch's hat, while being chased by the traditional ghosts Blinky, Pinky, Inky, and Clyde . In this special version, the pellets he must eat have been transformed into eyeballs to emphasize the horror theme.

Google explained that the game has eight levels, four of which take place in haunted house-shaped mazes.
Each stage reflects the personality of the ghosts that inhabit it, and the player must guide Pac-man with the arrow keys on the keyboard or by sliding their finger on the mobile phone.

When Pac-Man eats a power pellet, the ghosts turn purple and temporarily flee, replicating the classic mechanics of the original game. The game ends when the player loses all three lives.
A recurring classic in Google doodles This isn't the first time Google has dedicated a doodle to Pac-Man. In May 2010, the search engine released a playable version for the video game's 30th anniversary. A decade later, in 2020, it included it again to provide entertainment during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdowns.
With this new edition, Google combines nostalgia and celebration, inviting users to relive one of the most iconic video games in history, now with a Halloween theme.
