Goodbye Google Assistant: Gemini gets new features to become Android's personal assistant

Google is saying goodbye to its traditional Assistant and is betting on Gemini as the new personal assistant for Android . In this context, Gemini is receiving improved features to help users navigate apps like Phone, Messages, WhatsApp , and more. Until now, in order for Gemini to monitor apps, you had to enable the "App Activity" feature.
This meant that Google could log how you used its AI and store that data , which was a privacy issue, but the good news is that Google has changed this, allowing Gemini to work with apps without the feature enabled, TechRadar reports.
Gemini will work without recording as much data about your activity. That means you can now use Gemini to send messages or make calls without Google recording as much data about your use of the assistant , helping to protect your activity privacy while retaining the core functionality that the previous Google Assistant had.
However, Google makes it clear that even if the activity option is disabled, certain information will continue to be temporarily stored for security reasons for up to 72 hours.
The arrival of RCS to GeminiAnother rumored change is the possible arrival of RCS support in Gemini . As reported by Android Authority , RCS is a modern messaging system that allows you to send images, audio, and videos in Google's Messages app, something the familiar SMS system can't do.
Following their analysis, they found that the most recent Google app files indicate that Gemini could use RCS in the future.
