Violence escalates in Culiacán with bodies hanging and a van with 16 dead.

CULIACÁN, Sinaloa (apro). - The discovery of a van containing 16 bodies and four decapitated individuals hanging by their feet from a bridge was reported late Sunday. A bag containing five heads was also found at the scene.
The report was received on Mexico City International Highway 15 near the seminary, on the northern exit of Culiacán.
According to the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), the van-type vehicle contained 15 lifeless bodies and one decapitated body, all with gunshot wounds.
A message was found next to the unit.
The case is similar to what happened on September 28, 2024, at the beginning of the war between Chapitos and Mayos, when a white van was found graffitied with a message. Inside the vehicle were six lifeless bodies.
Sunday's day in Culiacán is expected to close with at least 28 murders.
Furthermore, June is expected to close as the most violent of 2025, with nearly 200 intentional homicides, making it the second June with the highest incidence since 2009, the time of the war between the Chapos and the Beltrán Leyva gangs.
