They are betting on working together to stop dengue fever.

As of the last epidemiological week, there were 917 cases of dengue in Jalisco , according to the Federal Government's Ministry of Health.

Therefore, the Jalisco government is promoting the Team Action Against Dengue in collaboration with the municipalities of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, San Pedro Tlaquepaque, and El Salto, with the goal of promoting joint work with authorities from the three municipalities.

State Health Secretary Héctor Raúl Pérez Gómez noted that there have been fewer cases of dengue fever in the last week compared to those reported a year ago .

" There are 31 new cases in the last epidemiological week, which is week 26, and in 2024, in the same week, Jalisco had 130 cases. And let's remember that cases begin to increase starting in epidemiological week 21."

Therefore, the official stated that they have carried out joint actions with the municipalities to try to prevent the spread of the dengue mosquito and the increase in the disease.

"The actions carried out by the municipalities are essential: removing junk, keeping public spaces clean. And for the population, it's keeping homes clean and, above all, free of junk, free of breeding grounds that can increase the disease."

At the event, the mayor of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Gerardo Quirino Velázquez , and the mayors of Tlaquepaque and El Salto, Laura Imelda Pérez and María Elena Farías, highlighted the collaborative work across municipal boundaries and their efforts to curb the spread of the disease.
