Sales of construction materials rose 15.5% in June, in line with the gradual recovery seen throughout the year.
In June, the Construya Index (IC), which measures the evolution of the volumes sold to the private sector of construction products manufactured by the companies that comprise it , registered a seasonally adjusted monthly recovery of 15.50%, and in the year-on-year comparison it showed an increase of 14.4%.
Thus, the cumulative figure for January-June 2025 closed 11.1% higher than the same period last year.
"As the year progresses, a very gradual recovery in demand for residential construction materials is consolidating. Going forward, the sector's outlook is subject to the continued macroeconomic stabilization process," Grupo Construya stated.
The index measures the evolution of sales volumes to the private sector of the following construction products manufactured by the leading companies that make up the Construya Group: ceramic bricks, Portland cement, lime, long steel, aluminum carpentry, adhesives and pastes, waterproofing paints, and sanitary ware, among others.
Last week, INDEC reported that the Synthetic Indicator of Construction Activity (ISAC) returned to its negative trend in May, registering a -2.2% drop compared to the previous month.
However, activity registered an increase of 8.6% compared to the same month in 2024 , and the cumulative indicator showed an increase of 10.0%.
"It is important to clarify that the ISAC published refers to May 2025, and therefore is not comparable with this Construya Index, which corresponds to June 2025," Construya concluded.
