MEXICO CITY (apro).- A crocodile was spotted in Acapulco, this is the second sighting in the area.

The sighting occurred in front of the Princess Mundo Imperial Hotel.

This phenomenon, intensified after Hurricane John in September 2024, has led organizations such as the Playa Mar Club to issue statements to alert the community.

In the images, the reptile is seen swimming through the waves to the amazement of tourists.

Club Playa Mar, located on Highway 421 Acapulco-Barra Vieja, Plan de Los Amates, issued a statement on July 7, 2025, following the sighting of a crocodile near its private beach.

The statement included the following:

“Alert to Residents and Visitors: Members, guests, and staff are urged to avoid approaching the beach until the capture of the crocodile is confirmed, emphasizing the importance of not interacting with the animal.”

The club immediately notified Municipal Civil Protection and the Federal Attorney for Environmental Protection (Profepa), who captured the 2.5-meter crocodile the same day and transported it to the Tres Palos lagoon.
