A dead whale appeared on the coast of Vicente López: the video that caused a stir

Residents of Vicente López were surprised this Wednesday by an unusual discovery: a whale appeared lifeless on the coast of the Río de la Plata, floating near the shore, near La Lucila . The image of the enormous animal shocked those who approached it and social media users.

The alert was raised by a fisherman around 6 a.m. after spotting a huge object and discovering it was a completely immobilized cetacean . He immediately contacted the nautical emergency line 106, which triggered rapid response by the Argentine Naval Prefecture.

The operation was quickly deployed in the La Lucila area, where Coast Guard personnel found the cetacean motionless, floating face up a few meters from the shore . Due to its size, specialists estimated it could be a juvenile.

Civil Defense agents and the local Police Patrol also participated in the efforts, establishing a security perimeter in the area.

A social media user warned that the whale "had been lost along the coast for several days, and no one offered help." However, no official information was released regarding a cetacean lurking in the area, much less that it was a specimen close to death.

Authorities have begun evaluating the most appropriate way to remove the animal's remains and determine whether further investigation is warranted. This isn't the first time a similar incident has occurred in the area: another beaked whale was found dead on the local shore in 2016.
