What damage did Torreón report after the rains?

Following the rain that fell on Saturday night in Torreón, minor damage was reported in the subdivisions and neighborhoods of Roma, Ciudad Nazas, Valle del Nazas, Villas Universidad, as well as on Rodríguez Triana Boulevard between Morín and Sarabia, as well as on the Raúl López Sánchez ring road and in the side lanes of the El Campesino Bridge, according to Jorge Luis Juárez Llanas, head of Civil Protection and Firefighters in Torreón.

He said that the actions taken to address this rainfall began at the beginning of its fall on Saturday night.

He commented that following the rainfall, actions remain active to address citizen reports, address accumulated water, and conduct patrols in various areas of the city.

"Since the start of the rains, surveillance and response protocols were activated, maintaining constant monitoring at various points in the city," he emphasized.

Regarding the Regulation Lagoon, he indicated that it is approximately 20 percent full, maintaining a good level without posing a risk of flooding in the area.

Personnel from the Civil Protection and Fire Department, in coordination with other operational areas such as Simas, Public Services, Traffic and Roads, and Municipal Police, are providing flood control, cleaning storm drains, inspecting public spaces, and supporting the general public.

Juárez Llanas reported that the rains are forecast to continue through Sunday, so the response operation will continue.

He said citizens can file reports by calling 911 or directly to Civil Protection and Firefighters at 871 712 0066.
