The incredible transformation of Mack Muggleton, the boy from '28 Weeks Later'

In 2002, perhaps ushering in the resurgence of the zombie subgenre, 28 Days Later was released to huge acclaim, a new take on the viral apocalypse featuring horrifyingly violent, lightning-fast infected individuals whose bites left only seconds until the infection manifested. Terrifying.

Five years later, in 2007, they released a second part: 28 Weeks Later , which followed the story of two brothers who, coincidentally, were in a camp in Spain at the time of the outbreak, and returned to Great Britain with their father when the situation was already under control, 28 weeks later.

The story featured a star-studded cast, including Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, Idris Elba, and Robert Carlyle, who played the father. Imogen Poots played the eldest Carlyle daughter, and in the lead role of the "miracle child," we found Mackintosh Muggleton, who, at thirteen years old, was making his screen debut in style .

Muggleton was widely praised even then for his outstanding performance in a difficult role, let alone a debut, and many believed a star was born. However, the young man withdrew from the film world and focused on finishing his studies.

Since 2002, he has been a postgraduate student in Film Acting at the Drama Centre London . At 31, he presents a portfolio that describes himself as an actor with "extensive experience in both theater and film, both in front of and behind the camera." In 2016 he ventured into screenwriting and directing with a short film titled The Man in the Mist , and in 2024 he returned to acting by participating in the low-budget film Salem Witch Doll .

On his social networks, he also presents himself as a DJ, and links to his M-XCloud playlist , where he has uploaded some tracks.

However, despite the obvious effort he's making to launch an acting career almost from scratch, the actor maintains a very low profile: his social media accounts are kept private, he barely has any followers, and many remained skeptical about his absence 28 years later until the very last moment.
