The incident occurred while officers were investigating a domestic violence case, a routine investigation that turned deadly.

The two surviving officers are in critical condition, though they have been stabilized at a local hospital. The medical facility remains cordoned off and has heightened security protocols. Bondi emphasized that “violence against law enforcement is a scourge on our society and is never acceptable.”

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is also monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts with other agencies.
