José Antonio Fernández appointed as the new CEO of Femsa

Mexican Economic Development ( Femsa ) confirmed that José Antonio Fernández Garza-Lagüera will assume the position of CEO effective November 1, 2025, in a strategic move that seeks to continue the company's growth and strengthen its presence in key markets.
The appointment follows a succession process planned since mid-2024 by the Board of Directors , which included international advice and the participation of independent directors to ensure best corporate governance practices.

With more than a decade of experience within Femsa, Fernández Garza-Lagüera has held key positions at OXXO, Coca-Cola Femsa, and Spin.
He currently heads Femsa Proximidad & Salud, where he oversees a portfolio of more than 28,000 stores in 11 countries, 4,300 pharmacies, and 550 fuel stations , leading more than 180,000 employees.
He holds an Industrial Engineer degree from the Monterrey Institute of Technology and an MBA from Stanford University , which supports a vision oriented toward international expansion and innovation in convenience, health, and energy services.
