Ercros loses 12 million and forecasts a recovery in demand starting in 2026.

Catalan chemical company Ercros closed the first quarter of the year with a loss of €12 million, compared to the €3 million it earned in the same period a year earlier.
These losses are due to " persistently weak demand, higher energy costs, and strong international competition ," Ecros told the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
He added that "the current tariff war launched by the US is not helping to improve European economic activity, as evidenced by the downward adjustment to the growth rate for 2025 recently forecast by the IMF."
On the other hand, Ercros attributes these results to "high" energy prices , which "continue to compromise Europe's competitiveness compared to the US and Asia."
The gross operating profit ( EBITDA ) of the chemical company chaired by Antonio Zabalza fell by 98% to 0.28 million euros.
Upcoming expansion.
