President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo is visiting Coahuila this Sunday as part of her first state of the nation address.
To a standing ovation from the audience, Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez introduced the president and highlighted Saltillo as one of the safest cities. He announced that important agricultural projects are coming, one of them in the Laguna Region of Coahuila.
The state leader noted the arrival of more than 100 billion pesos in national and foreign investments, in addition to a water project for the Laguna region to benefit ranchers. He also highlighted the construction of the Saltillo-Derramadero highway, a commitment made to local communities.
Manolo Jiménez highlighted the coordination with the Federal Government on issues of security, economy, and strategic projects.
For her part, President Sheinbaum announced a package of programs and public works. These include a comprehensive high-quality meat production center and credit for cattle fattening, with an investment of 650 million pesos. She also reported on the launch of the Saltillo–Nuevo Laredo train next Tuesday , the construction of 11,000 National Housing Commission and 40,000 Infonavit homes, as well as new high schools and the creation of Rosario Castellanos University in Coahuila.
The President of Mexico thanked Governor Manolo Jiménez for not being part of the Fourth Transformation Movement, but for working to govern together.
Regarding the AHMSA case, the president asserted that the ongoing trial includes a clause stating that workers should be the beneficiaries first.
He also mentioned that work continues on the Pasta de Conchos case. He assured that they will continue until the last body is recovered.
Social programsThe governor highlighted that in Coahuila, 934,768 people receive support from the Federal Government, with an annual investment of 16.4 billion pesos. Among the beneficiaries are 298,865 senior citizens, 19,400 people with disabilities, more than 82,000 high school students with Benito Juárez scholarships, 10,569 small agricultural producers, and 75,250 families receiving milk assistance for their well-being. In addition, new programs are being promoted, such as the Women's Well-being Pension, the Rita Cetina scholarship for secondary school students, and the Door-to-Door Health Plan.
Claudia Sheinbaum thanked the people of Mexico and the governor for their support and backing. She emphasized that despite the difficult months they have experienced, Mexico always comes first.
"Mexico is an extraordinary, great country with a generous people. We negotiate as equals, we coordinate, we collaborate, but we never subordinate ourselves. There are non-negotiable, inalienable principles, and that is, speaking of Independence Month, that Mexico is a sovereign, free, and independent country."
