Hannover 96 vs. Hertha BSC on free TV: Who is broadcasting the game?

On Saturday evening in the 2. Bundesliga, the undefeated Hannover 96 will face the ill-started Hertha BSC. Where will the match be broadcast?

Can Hertha coach Stefan Leitl turn things around against his former club? IMAGO/Matthias Koch

On Saturday, September 13, Hannover will host the capital club at the Heinz-von-Heiden-Arena. Kickoff is at 8:30 p.m.

Last five duels ended in a draw

The start to the season for the Lower Saxony side – with the exception of their DFB-Pokal exit – could hardly have gone better. After four matchdays, Hannover 96 has the maximum number of points. Hertha, on the other hand, got off to a bad start, sits in the relegation zone with two points, and is still waiting for its first win. The results of their recent meetings with Hannover do not suggest that Hertha will secure their first win. The last five matches have all ended in draws. The last victory by a team dates back to December 1, 2018: the Berlin side won the Bundesliga match against Hannover 96 2-0 .

For Hertha coach Stefan Leitl, meanwhile, it's a return to a former stomping ground. The 48-year-old coached the Lower Saxony club for a year and a half, but just before the turn of the year, after a 0-0 draw with his current club, his time was over. Two months later, in February 2025, Leitl took over in Berlin. The first reunion with his former club ended in a 1-1 draw at the Olympiastadion on the final matchday of the previous season.
