Trade war between the US and China: 25,000 industrial jobs in Germany at risk

"According to our estimates, the likely diversion of Chinese goods and increased competition could result in the loss of 17,000 to 25,000 industrial jobs in this country," explained Allianz Trade economist Jasmin Gröschl (42). "Particularly at risk are mechanical engineering, the textile industry, non-metallic mineral products, electronics, computers, and motor vehicles." This corresponds to approximately 0.2 to 0.3 percent of total employment in German industry, which employs approximately eight million people.
