#46 – The Rope Gallery & Studio in Munich – with Robert Stephan

Antje Wewer visited interior designer Robert Stephan in his design gallery The Rope in Munich.

Together with Vicky and Peter Schlagböhmer, he opened this new space for collectible design, a gallery and studio in the Luitpoldblock, in November 2024. The trio showcases contemporary pieces and vintage furniture from the 20th and 21st centuries, from Jean Prouvé to Gio Ponti, in approximately 250 square meters.

Robert Stephan talks to us about how he came to interior design via a roundabout route, why it is worth investing in collectibles and where he took Michèle Lamy for dinner in Munich.
