Appendicitis in children: What is the current status?

Uncomplicated appendicitis in children is usually treated surgically. However, there are also cases in pediatrics where an (initially) conservative approach may be considered. At the German Society for Pediatric Surgery (DCK) in Munich, an expert in pediatric surgery presented current data, including on concomitant antibiotic therapy, and reported on the results of an international consensus conference.
