Munich: Four-year-old child dies in accident in Berg am Laim

A serious accident occurred in Munich: Five people were injured in a collision between two cars. A four-year-old child died at the scene.
A four-year-old child died in a traffic accident in Munich. The collision occurred on Monday afternoon at an intersection in the Berg am Laim district, as reported by the Munich police.
A 37-year-old woman from the Munich district was driving her Skoda on Kreillerstrasse at around 3:30 p.m. At the intersection with St.-Veit-Strasse, she intended to turn left. Two four-year-old children were in the back seat.
At the same time, a 60-year-old man from Munich was driving his BMW straight ahead on Kreillerstrasse. A 30-year-old woman was sitting next to him in the passenger seat.
The green arrow at the traffic light was green for the 37-year-old. As she turned, she collided with an oncoming BMW. All five occupants were injured and taken to the hospital.
One of the two children suffered severe injuries and later died in the hospital. Both cars were totaled.
The intersection was closed for approximately three hours while the accident was investigated. Munich traffic police are now investigating the exact circumstances of the accident.
