Rumors of a breakup between Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have been circulating for some time. Now there's an official statement that's causing a stir.

They were a couple for almost ten years. Now the romance between singer Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom is official—even though the word "split" isn't explicitly mentioned in a joint statement from their spokespeople.

"Orlando and Katy have refocused their relationship over the past few months to focus on co-parenting their daughter," reads the joint statement, obtained by US Weekly. It continues: "They will continue to appear together as a family, as their shared priority is—and always will be—raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect." According to the report, Perry and Bloom amicably separated earlier this year.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom began dating in 2016. In March 2017, a statement, widely cited by US media, read: "Before rumors or false reports take over, we can confirm that Orlando and Katy are currently distancing themselves out of respect and love." A little over a year later, they were seen together again. They became engaged in 2019. Their daughter, Daisy Dove, was born in August 2020.

The two never married, but each had been married before. Perry married British actor Russell Brand in a traditional Hindu ceremony in India in 2010; they divorced two years later. Bloom was married to Australian model Miranda Kerr from 2010 to 2013. They share custody of their 14-year-old son, Flynn.
